Living Classrooms Workforce Development at the UA House @ Fayette (by main post office at 1100 E. Fayette St.) has some excellent free or low cost resources (flyer attached for each listing):
· Maryland Legal Aid services on Mondays. No appointment required;
· PerScholas is recruiting for Free IT Support training. Computer savvy people are encouraged to apply. Interested individuals should apply early and attend a TABE refresher course;
· A free forklift certification at the beginning of each month. Participants must live in public housing/section 8 or have a low income living within our Target Investment Zone (map attached to flyer).
· Living Classrooms Workforce Development is offering GED classes in the new year. Registration is required to sign up for the TABE test and to secure a spot. Classes begin early January.
The next State ID Clinic will be January 10th. Participants must be homeless, in recovery, or reentry; they are encouraged to bring some form of documentation or proof such as a letter. Participants must also bring a birth certificate, social security card and two proofs of address (government acceptable). Copies of these documents may or may not be accepted; it is at the discretion of the MVA.
