Turnaround Tuesday -Every Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Their mission is to prepare, train, and connect returning citizens, unemployed and underemployed citizens to living wage jobs and to build a vibrant public life. Unique training sessions equip those seeking jobs with the ability to practice interviews, also helping them pinpoint the skills they can finely tune in order to obtain living wage jobs. Helping with the job-seeking process and connecting clients with employers doesn’t stop there. They follow up with clients so they have a solid support system. In 2022, a total of 261 clients were placed with jobs through Turnaround Tuesday, and are now employed at places such as Bank of America, Johns Hopkins Hospital, University of Maryland Medical System, Baltimore County Public Schools, and UPS.


Stillmeadow PeacePark Learning Center was created in an effort to support our three local schools: North Bend and Beechfield Elementary/Middle Schools, Edmondson High School; as well as others in the area. Because of the 10 acres of forest on our property (now a public park for all), we have the unique opportunity to provide supplemental education that incorporates nature. The Learning Center is open Monday through Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and it’s free to join! We work with children in grades 3 thru 12, offering homework help, practice for reading and math, nature walks, science, technology, and much more! Baltimore Forest School takes place on Saturday mornings, and teaches children about stewardship and character, along with the beauty of nature. Some of the opportunities offered are: character education, walks with nature experts, gardening, African drumming, art, and more! Baltimore Forest School takes place on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., rain or shine, from now until March 27th. Children of all ages are welcome, and it’s free to join!


Basic Computer Training - We are very excited to be hosting a 4-week course in partnership with “Byte Back” an organization that teaches adults digital literacy. A second course that will be offered is “Computer Foundations I.” These courses, which will teach basic computer skills everyday use in navigating computers and the internet, will begin on January 30th, and end on February 22nd. Classes will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
